I'm Not Lazy
I know what a way to start a blog...
Hear me out for a bit. Most of us Indie Authors are called lazy, living off the government, complaining about things we have no control over, and those that judge us cause we supposedly are not liking the hands that feed us. Not all true.
I can tell you something about me. I was never lazy actually if I had a choice I would work a 9-5 job or in this case 8am to 4pm because I like mornings into afternoons. I used to be an early bird, oh, did I love getting up at 4am-6am to start my day, enjoy my coffee, and get to my daily routines.
Living off the government wasn't my choice it was more my Dad's because I was too stressed to handle anything including Education. It wasn't healthy having a heart disease and try to live life normally, not everyone can. I'm currently on SNAP to keep food in the house and I have to fight back for my SSI, SSDI, and Medicaid that I have. Yes, I do legally have Medicare help through the state because I'm an Adult Disabled Child under my Dad. Did I want this life? No. I wanted to work until I retired. I didn't get that option.
I will admit I do complain sometimes about my life. Why? Because I hate being a homebody, I hate being laid up 99% of the time, and I hate not being able to work. I love my career as an Author it is the most treasurable dream to have. I had dreams, I had big ideas for my life, I wanted to be something, I wanted to be a somebody but my health never let me.
You want to know something else about me? I lived poor, I lived under our means with my parents, and we didn't live the way we do now. My parents went hungry a good chunk of the time so us kids had food and roof over our heads. Our life didn't improve until we got up here in West Virginia. The only reason we live here is because my Dad and Mom can live out in retirement with ease. They both have lived challenging lives and I grew up watching it. One thing we got lucky on was the State of Florida or least the Hospital I went too covered my medical bills until I turned adult. Because their was no way my parents could afford medical bill with my younger brother also needing therapy and such.
So, all I ask is don't judge us Indie Authors, you have no idea of our backgrounds and what we went through.
Added note: I'm not inbred, whoever stated that needs to get their head checked. Don't call someone that unless you know of their backgrounds or their lives all together. My Dad is from Washington State and My Mom is from Indiana, that's not inbred you sick fools.
Anyways, I'm off to go do adulting things because life is too much fun to be doing nothing.
